I found a truck for sale the other day and was trying to figure out the year of the truck It is odd becase it has a 78-79 grill assembly but has the gas tank behind the seat and has the huge looking hubs like 0n 76 and earler but it has the f 250 custom like a 78-79 I couldnt get a hold of the owner and the door was locked I was thinking pre 77 could I be right? thanks in advance

Sounds pretty mixed up to me too. My '73 has 79 grill, no side emblems and a 78 box with square fuel doors - it really throws people off... The F250 badge is on the fender for 73-76 and on the cowl on 77-79. 78-79 has chrome FORD letters across the hood, 73-77 has no lettering on hood. 73-77 F250 4x4 has divorced transfer case. 77-79 has square fuel door on bed, 73-76 has bare cap.
