460 Air Filter
This weekend I was reading in a Trailer Life magazine that big V8 engines could improve their gas milage by throwing away the paper air filter and replacing it with a "gauze mesh" type filter.
In addition the article said that the increased air flow would increase horse and pulling power.
Is this a good idea?

On a stock motor? maybe but you will probably never feel the difference. Better thing to do is add a second snorkle to the air cleaner with a cold air duct forward to the grill ares like the stock one. The ran effect would be just as useful as the K&N filter would.
