Pictures are worth a thousand words. Does anyone have any pictures on where and exactly how to hard wire the PIE connection with an XM radio? I found the instructions that came with my PIE adapter to be lacking in this department.
Looking at the PIE website it looks pretty easy. From all indications it looks like the PIE comes with a 16 pin pigtail which gets plugged into the PIE adapter, with one of the other two ends going to the back of the reciever ( male end), and the factory male end gets plugged into the other end of the pig tail( female). Then you merely plug the IPOD or XM Sirrus receiver into the RCA inputs on the PIE adapeter and adjust the input level.
i was never happy with the SQ of the transmitter in my roady, i always used the tape adapter, sounded much betterm and never got cut in on by another station, now i got a sirius, and i use the wired modulator that goes between the radio and the antenna...tha biggest problem with noise i had on my XM was all the noise they broadcast telling you to "try this station", or "try this other station", i got sick enough of it to buy a sirius, i miss a few of the programs, but not nearly as many commercials
I have absolutely no issues with XM's programming, nor do I experience a multitude of commercials. The thing that stinks is that these things don't come with factory tape decks, nor do most good H/U replacements. I liked the tape adapter setup in my volvo, nice and simple.
For clearer reception - remove your trucks OEM antenna. I have Sirius in my vehicle, by removing the Ford antenna, your FM radio has much less interferance. Works like a charm, and costs nothing to do...
