Talking starting problem

hello all...got a ???? maybe someone can help me out here...i got in my 86 bII and went about 3 miles to the store...when i came out 10 min later the engine would crank but not start...acted as if it wasn't getting any fuel...waited about 10 min and turned the key and it finally started but was barely firing and i had to wait about a min befor it picked up any rpm...after this it seemed to run ok for the rest of the day...2.9L w/auto trans any help would be appreciated

There is a lil sound you can here just as you turn the key to here the pump in the tank if ya here that then it should be fine ......I had that same thought that it might be the pump but it was the coil and the wire to coil .....TR

I would start by checking the fuel pressure, if the fuel filter hasn't been changed in a while that would be a good idea.

ok..kinda busy but i will check that fpr...as soon as possible and let you know...can you tell me what the pressure should read...thanxz for the help both of ya

I like to see 35 - 45 psi.
