leaking trolley jack

does these cylinders have orings/gasket that can be replaced?....my 2 1/2 ton craftsman leaks and i havent used it very much. its about 3-4 yrs old. I've put power steering oil in it, works for a while, depending on how much i use it. thanks..paul

They can be rebuilt if the rams are not damaged. Check your local yellow pages for a hydraulic or jack repair shop in your area. They may be able to do the repairs and they may have parts. Sometimes they do not work on the "import" jacks like your Craftsman. Use hydraulic jack oil in jacks if possible. That said, I have used ATF in my jacks before with no ill effects.

If it's leaking, you may have a damaged o-ring or a nicked cylinder. Extand the cylinder all the way ut and inspect it. If a real small nick is found, you can polish this out.
If you feel adventerous, you can disassemble the jack and replace the o-rings from your local hydraulic supply
