Shopping for generators
With a regular portable AC generator it would be very difficult to synchronize the outputs since at least all the ones I have seen just run at whatever the engine is running, which results to pretty close to 60 Hertz, but can fluctuate.
In my mind the inverters are an interesting but complex solution to the need for power. Yes you can just add on more inverters to get to the power you want but there are more components to blow up and of course they cost a lot more to start with.
So far I like the noise level(noticable but acceptable and nothing like the old 1000w I have) of my new Powerpro and since it cost something less than 20% of the equivalent Honda dual(if I want more than 2,000W) generator setup, it is good enough for me.
Just my opinion,

Real light and real quiet, and even running together they wont make any more noise than 54 - 59 db.
I will probably usually run just one at a time, unless it's darned hot and I need Air Conditioiner. That way, I can rotate the use on one to the other and save hours on each.
Alot of Dough but hey, you only live once. I like it as quiet as possible when I'm sippin' on a Marg in the sun, with my feet in the lake.
