WEV-AJ = Ford Tr. '79-81 E150
Ford Tr. '80-81 E100
Ratio = 3.00:1
Dia of R.G = 9.00
NL or L = NL
Axle Shaft Splines = 28

WCD-H = Thunderbird '66
Ratio = 3.00:1
Teeth R.G. = 39
Teeth P. = 13
Dia. of R.G = 9.0
NL or L = NL
Axle Shaft Splines = 28

They are the same, no change.

The next step down would be a 2.75:1.

You have a 9" removable carrier so you can use any 9" carrier that has 28 splines. The carrier is real easy to change with no setup.
A 2.75:1 has 44 Teeth on the Ring Gear and 16 Teeth on the Pinion.
They are found in something like a '71 Ford SW with a 400.

I think you ment 275 and not 273, if so yes it would have 275 on it.
