Hard brake pedal

Hard brake pedal

Every once in awhile, I get a "hard" brake pedal. 99 F150. 4WD. Drums rear. ABS front and rear sensor on differential. I push the pedal, feels real hard, the brakes hardly work, then I have to push real hard to brake. No ABS lite. I pulled the ABS fuse to see if that helps, till I pull the wheels. Anyone have any ideas??

The last time I heard of that happeneing was due to collapsing brakes lines due to overheating. If not that then I would imagine something got into the fluid and is blocking the lines.

Just talked to a Ford Mechanic, said to clean ABS sensors. I guess the front sensors are a pain to get out. It's definitely in the ABS system, they've been working fine since I pulled the ABS fuse.
