I know I shouldn't believe everything I read on the internet. I had heard on a local (nonford site) that the SVT dept was going under. Does anybody know if this is true?
Nothing indepth on that web site, somebody just kinda mentioned it in passing. I thought they were getting ready to come out with a new lightning in the next couple of years? have the sales really been doing that bad?
With the success of the GT500, I don't see how they are doing anything but good. I do know that the Ford GT is being cancelled though. They are closing the plant up here that made it. They might decide to build it somewhere else. I haven't heard about that though.
Then again, I did hear that the GT500 was going to be developed from Shelbys workshop, not SVT. Well, they both worked on it, and it has both badges. So maybe what I read had some merit, and Shelby will be in charge of the GT500 program of the future. As far as the lightning, that would be a shame to loose completley.
Either way, its just another thing for me to shake my head about.
