I have a 1994 f150 4X2 and today, while bolting tow hooks on, i noticed that one of the rear spring mounts that bolts to the frame is very rusted and has a large crack and hole in it. The other one is pretty bad too. How do you replace this? it is rivited on so im guessing i have to grind the rivits off to get the mount off? Also, if anyone replaced theirs, where did you buy it and about how much did it cost. And did it come with the piece that goes from the end of the spring to the bracket, or just the bracket?
I mounted the hooks on the bottom of my bumper bracket. Its a HD aftermarket bumper and the bracket actually fits over the frame instead of in it. Im not planning on using these very often, thats why i didn't put them on the truck frame. Also, the frame was so high up that if i put a chain to a hook on the frame it might come down and tear the bumper up I think they look good, you can see them from behind the truck. they are in a position so that they can be used eaisly. but im not gonna be able to use them until i get a new spring bracket.
