I am having a tough time removing the fuel filter on my 03 V-10 X.
1. I am removing pressure from the schrader valve on top of the inktake manifold.
2. I can unclip the metal clip on the front of the filter, but cannot remove the front fuel line.
3. I canot figure out how to loosen the rear plastic retainer that keeps the rear fuel line secured to the filter.
Some fuel lines have a spring lock connection and require a plastic tool to move the spring out of the way. Similar to the spring lock connections of the old air conditioning systems.
I'm not quite familiar with the type of fastener you're talking about. The rearfilter clip is black plastic and has a blue recessed piece of plastic, though it (the blue piece) looks way too small and soft to be part of a release clip.
As mentioned before, the front clip is metal and "cams" right off, though the filter still won't come off the line.
Scary to think about, but maybe Jiffy Lube has figured this one out.
