How Long Should I Wait
Second, Congrats on the new truck and welcome to the BSEG club!
You'll find out what that is very quickly with the V10.Wait "at least" 500 miles. This gives all the components (especially the engine and rear gear set) time to break in and seat properly. This also give your brakes a little time to seat correctly (kinda important when towing).
I, emphasis on I, would wait until after you change the oil the first time or two. There is some minute wearing of the parts and this needs to come out before you stress that engine good. My usual thing is change oil at 500 miles, 1000 miles, 3000 miles, then normal changes.
If you want a good long life outta that V10, break 'er in right. LOTS AND LOTS of hot / cold cycles before you romp on it. It will really start to loosen up when you get around 150 hrs on the engine.
Enjoy that new 10. You'll love it. Come on down to the V10 forum and ask this and you'll get lots of responses.
