Alternator mounting problems
How many of you are running a one wire alternator? I ordered one of the smallcase powermaster 100amps for my '77 ford and i tried a standard GM one wire previously and had a big head clearance issue. Well. I figured I might be safe now ordering the ford small case version, the small case alternator honestly though was a very tight fit. Well turns out that the back of it has a round protrusion, maybe part of the regulator or something and it doesnt clear the head. So right now with a lack of other brackets or ways to line it up on the pulleys I figured I would just notch the head out for it. Anyone saw any cheap alternate methods?

The small case Ford alternator clears the FE head by about 1/8" at the center rear. There is a bearing pocket that is closest to the head.
I would hesitate to grind on the head, there are passages close to the surface. That would make for a very bad day!

Clocking is rotating the terminals to a different position in relation to the adjustment boss. Put the adjustment boss at 12 o'clock, if the terminals are up like the boss, it is 12 o'clock. To the right, 3 o'clock, etc.
