It is a lot easier to answer your questions if you give us info as to what vehicle year and model you have and what if anything has been changed from stock in your posts. AFA rear ratio the diameter wheels and tires you'll be using will also affect the choice of rear ratio. That all said ratio around 3.3- 3.7 behind a non overdrive tranny will probably be more to your liking. Unless you are doing a pure restoration it's likely to be better and cheaper to change the rear axle to something later with the proper ratio already in it than to try to find a new set of gears for yours and get them installed correctly. Also do use the search function when you have a question as many of the common questions have been discussed in very deep detail previously and you may get a better answer there.
