occasional cold staring problem
Hello. 2001 explorer xlt 4.0 sohc. it sits overnight and will just crank when you go to start it...unless you hold the gas pedal down..it starts right up...smells a bit like gas..then runs fine...my first reaction was to check the fuel regulator..it was fine...i put plugs wires fuel filter in about 6 months ago.. it has 63000 on it. this might be an obvious one, thanks for and ideas.

Looks like this would be the perfect time to add a fuel pessure gauge to your tool collection. Or if you're lucky Autozone will lend you one.
Your Haynes manual will tell you how to check the fuel pressure.
