400 Build intake question

Ok folks help me out. I really like the chi 3v heads. problem is only the 3v intake will bolt to it proplerly and its a single plane. I want to use a dual plane for low end torque so I was wondering if anyone know of anything that would allow this combination or if welding an a plate into the intake to divide the flow would help low end power? Just curious what that type of modification would cause?

Thanks for the help.

You would be creating a 360* manifold, which should have good low-end torque along with good hi RPM HP. Interestingly, David Vizard ("How To Build Horsepower") did dyno tests of an Offenhauser 360 manifold with and without the removable divider plate installed and found a significant increase along with better low-end performance with the divider installed, along with very poor performance below 3000 RPMs. I would be interested in the results you see, better, worse, or toss-up.

CHI should supply you with adapter plates to mate a 2V intake to the 3V heads. I had this setup on my 400 before I converted to EFI. The 2V intakes available are barely suitable for those heads. I was running an Edelbrock Streetmaster single plane intake, and had good low end torque, but the intake was limiting my high RPM reformance.

The CHI 2V heads will mate to an Edelbrock Performer or Weiand #8010, and will work well with any low to midrange cams.
