You could also check out the Pirelli Scorpion M/T tires.

I vote for the BFG MT or AT. I would not buy Pro Comp tires. They supposedly sub out their tire production to whoever will do it the cheapest. Also, I just don't like their tires anyway. Another good tire would be the Good Year MT or Toyo MT. I think those cost more though. I think the Pirelli tires mentioned above are pretty good as well. I would much rather have them than the Pro Comps. I have BFG ATs on my truck.

I have to buy tires and I like my BFGs but I thought I might try out something new. I need a mud tire, even though I drive mostly on road, when I do get off road it is usually in some real nasty stuff. The All terrain tires I have now clog up too much and don't clean very well but that is probably because they are about bald. Really I want a tire that will balance well, rides well down the road, and is more than capable off road. I know I might be thinking a little hopefull here but what do you guys suggest?

I have always liked my BFG tires, but have tried many others. As of my last purchase, (General Grabber M/Ts), I will never again purchase a tire that is not a BFG.

BFG makes an OK tire if you have a light weight truck and you never go off road.
If your in a heavy truck or you need a good sidewall look for something else.

BFG is one of the most overglorified and overrated tires there is. When you really get down to it, they are a piece of crap compared to just about any other tire out there

I've heard that the Yokohama Geolander A/T II + is a good tire. How about the Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT or better yet the Bridgestone Dueller A/T Revo??

I beg to differ about the BFGs being crap. They may not be nearly as good as Super Swampers, and other bogger tires in the mud, but most people drive thier truck on the street 90% of the time. The BFG offers decent off road capabilities as wells as handles good on road and doesn't make too much road noise. I have gone through 4 sets of them over the years, and every set I had had around 75K miles on them before they were shot.

I do agree that on a F250 or F350 diesel the BFG tires wear out pretty fast.

The Yokahama Geolander is a good tire. A freind of mine likes the Dunlops, but they don't seem to last quite as long. I'm not really a fan of anything Bridgestone makes, but I don't know if those are any good or not.

Michelin makes great tires, but I don't think they offer a mud tire. I'm pretty sure all they have a mildly aggessive all terrain tires.

They are fine are far as traction goes, the problem with the BFG's going off-road is they are so easy to puncture. The sidewalls are so thin you can puncture it on a root or sharp rock, where any other tire would be fine.
On heavy veichles its not that the tread wears fast, it just doesn't wear evenly so you end up throwing the tire out with half the tread left. Its the worst tire I have seen for Cuping the tread.

You could also check the Firestone Destination MT tires, and the Nankang tires are pretty durable (don´t know if they have an MT).
