Hi guys,
I have a 1979 F150 4X4 that has rust along the length of the roof seam which runs from the top rear corner of the left side of the drivers door opening and on around to the top left corner of the back window opening. I can't yet push a sharp tool thru it but it is crusty. This seems to me an unusual place to form rust, not having seen it in this location before. Is there a drain hole below it which could be plugged and holding water? There is no indication of rust on the right side on this same seam, in fact, there is no other rust anywhere on this truck that I am aware of. Any suggestions out there will be appreciated and suggestions on how to repair this damage after the source of this rust is found and corrected? Thanks for any help out there.

was from texas. It spent all its life down in sunny texas and
that was the only spot that had rust or rot. Maybe it could be
a defect in the metal or when they manufactured the roof panel.
Hey Paul,
Once your at the body forum, search for roof rust and/or rust on drip edge. there is a couple of threads on this. Your problem may very well be a leak along the top of the windshield.
