When the group of us met up a few weeks back, we talked about our next meeting being sometime in late April or early May. Put in a few suggestions on where we should have it for that time, and we can stick another poll out there for those who plan to attend.
We'd like to plan for a project related gathering too, maybe help a member with their rebuild or such. What's everyone's opinion on the next gathering?

id really hate to spend our meeting crowded around my old rust bucket.

i kinda liked the layout of our first meeting, it was simple, to the point, and involved some good eatin!

Hey Slash we can do both eat hold the meeting and work on your truck all at the same time. That's what this club is all about helping each other out and having a good time. But that's my opinion.

yea i showed my dad the rusty cab floor sections and the spot where the passenger seat belt mount is kinda rusty and stuff, and hes like.... we will fix it later, which is just what he said last summer when i wanted to fix it. he doesnt think a cab swap is something a group of guys can do and i told him its gonna be hard but it needs to be done and he is getting all pissed about it. he wont even discuss it with me, which is pretty stupid. thats why i like all yall here, yall actually want to help me fix up my junk and are willing to take time off your schedule and help me and he wont even talk about it.

ive been trying to talk him into letting me fix it but hes worried about his truck getting fixed that he never ever drives but i understand what hes saying... i plan to start on my truck when we get his truck back on the road. the transmission for his truck is at the shop right now (i didnt think i could rebuild a tranny, id probally just screw it up more).

dont worry about the seat belt mount though, my buddys all ride in the bed and my lady friends ride in the middle seat with me.

sorry about the kinda long post, but i had to let it out somewhere, and yall have the ears and time to listen to me. thanks yall.

well slash all i can say is it can be dont in a few hours and you back on the road, i have changed many of these cabs and have done plenty of complete rebuilds, i have found a good body for you i am willing to do this for you, i have worked for a ford dealer, and i have worked on trucks and cars since i was 12, i have the stuff to change it with. where the cab is at i have a crane that i use to remove cabs etc,the fastest i have removed a cab is in about an hour by myself, it dont take long as long as you know where the bolts are and what to unhook. as you know i totaly redone and fix my old 73 up and change frame etc, now if your dad wnats to come with you that is fine by me, as long as there is no one telling how to do something i already know how to do, and i dont do nothing half A$$, i went to school to work on aircraft and i dont believe in doing something and cutting corners, everything must be right and done right. i will still trade beds with you asap, but ask your dad to get a price on all the metal parts for the door jam and a new floor pan and dont forget the piece where the cab mount as went through, and get the price on having it welded in , and fixed, and see if it is cheaper then doign the cab swap, oh if he is worried about the title issue the cab i have has a clear title also. so just let me know what you want to do?? now i think cliff is willing to help, and i think a couple of others also. so getting this done is not a problem and i think art might help have to ask he is not far from my dads home. now i am not trying to say anything bad about your dad i sure he is a great guy, but you have to weight out the cost on fixing what you have for complete cab. we as a group are not going to charge you labor to do something for you. so the labor is nothing to worry about. we take care of our own.
my main concren is the safty of your truck man i want it to be safe and road worthy, i dont wnat to see it go down the road and parts are falling off it LOL.
take care slash and dont worry to much. i got your back on this and the rest of the group does too.

oh by the way the body shop charge me 85 labor to welded up my radiator support and that was just a couple of welds. so it cost me 378, dollars to get a support then modifie it and that is cutting the bottom off mine and weld it to the new one and a fender.

yea my dad is a great guy, but hes getting fairly old( he turns 50 this year) and he worked hard all his life and doesnt like to do stuff like this anymore. he wouldnt be telling you what to do and stuff, he only does that to me! how long do you think it would take to swap the cabs? if its only a couple of hours, then you reckon it could be done in one day? ive tried to talk to him about it, but like i said, he just gets made and starts cussing and walks away. im going to tlak to mom about tlaking to him to let me do it, she has a certain way of dealing with him... maybe she can convince him to stop being so weird about it.
