Keyless door entry

Hi, knew to the forum and new Expy owner. 2000 Eddie Bauer. Did not get the code for the keyless entry from the previous owner, manual says that the factory code is on the computer module. Any idea where to start looking?

Look under the dash on the driver's side. Its either 5 or 6 numbers long, black on a white sticker.

Thanks for the info. My son and I both looked under the passenger side dash and did not find it. We also looked under the drivers side around the emergency brake area and did not see it. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have the same year and it was on a black box on the drivers side near the emergency brake if I remember correctly. Once you get that code you can change it to one for yourself or just make a second code for yourself and leave the one from the factory.

Exclamation

That code will always work unless you change the GEM module. You can add codes but you cannot delete the original. I unplugged my keypad after the second time the truck was broken into.

Still unable to find it.

Thanks for your replies. I did look in the owners manual and in the glove box, unfortunately it looks like the previous owner did away with it. As far as on the passengers side under the dash it looks like the tag may have been removed, so I may have to buck up and pay for the computer work.

Found it.

I went back again and looked one more time. I could not find it on the passengers side, but I was able to find it on the drivers side. I have an aftermarket alarm installed and it was blocking the view. Got the code, works like a charm. Thanks for the help.

First time I used mine I walked out to get something out of the truck and started to go back in to get the keys, and rembered the code, opened right up.

thats when I fell in Love with the option.

I too, am having difficulties locating the default code for the keyless entry. I own same model as 00Eddie's. Do I have to remove any part of the dash to locate the code? What are the dimensions of the sticker? Thanks.

Exclamation Keyless Entry Keypad.

I work at a Dealer and I know it is under the DRIVER side dash. It is very hard to see and it requires a flashlight and special bending of the back and neck. It is a white sticker with SMALL black numbers on it! Let me know if u still cant find it?
