need help

i have a 93 f-150 excab swb. I am wondering if switching to headers and 3inch single outlet will help with some performance and maybe mpg?

I dont see why not. Just dont keep the stock cat because it will be the cork in an otherwise good exhaust. Spend the $$ on a good high flow cat.
