Extension Cords
5 gallon buckets will work. I use the smaller buckets that my chlorine tablets come in for my pool.
Remove the lid. Make cut-outs in the top to mount two 110 outlets in it. Cut a small hole at the edge of the lid to run your extension cord through. Cut the female end off your extension cord, run it through the hole in the lid and wire it to one receptacle and jumper one receptacle to the other. Now you have a storage for your cord and four outlets at the end. Very easy to store. Just shove your cord into the lid and put it away.
Make sure to pull all of the cord out of the bucket prior to use. Heat can build up in a coiled cord and cause it to fuse together.

About $30.00 new or $5.00 at a garage sale both are a good price
If you didn't want to cut the end off the extension cord you could make an "X" incision in the lid and poke the end thru so it hangs out as far as you want. Then tuck the end back in the big feed hole. You could also cut another "X" type hole to secure the male end of the cord. Or you could even swap ends and keep the bucket near the power source.
