Went to boucle-up this afternoon and for some reason I can't slide the metal portion into the boucle. I tried pressing the Red release button while sliding it in, still no luck. It feels like it is sliding in part of the way and then something is blocking it. Have you encountered that as well?
I will make an appointment in the morning to get this fixed but I wanted to know if any of you have experienced something similar?
I thought i was the only one with this problem. Mine started doing that when we got our first cold spell of the winter, thought maybe i just got something spillt in it causing it to stick. It went away for a while and started doing it again earlier this week.
I live in Manitoba so we do get some cold temperatures... I have seen -29F this winter with a windshield factor making it to 52.6F... but the problem didn't surface then... it surface today when it's about 35F... weird.
I will update the post once it is repaired with the reasons (if provided)..
My better half will take the truck in, hopefully tomorrow... this is a safety concern after all...
I believe you'll find that Ford will take this issue/repair very very seriously. If they don't be sure and make noise till someone at the shop does. Ford would have a huge liability problem if are negligant in any way on a repair like this.
Warranty or No Warranty.
I'm actually surprised they did not have you bring the truck in right away.
Update: My wife brought the truck in today and left the service department 5 minutes after her arrival. The technicien got in the truck..looked at the boucle... tried it.. it didn't work. Then he 'pulled' on the red release buttom and tried to slide the metal portion inthe boucle...and...Bingo... it locked in place. He then tried to boucle and release a few times and sent my wife on her way... problem solve. Of course, we will keep an eye on it and if it happens again, we will get it repaired under warrenty.
