Red face Transfer case

I have a 1984 Ford F250 4x4. I think the transfer case chain needs to be changed because there is a lot of free play in the drive shaft almost a good 1 1/2 inches turning side to side when parked. How do you change the chain? Is this normal? Thanks!@

i know my truck always had a lot play in the transfer case, i consider it normal, it helps give you some play if for some reason the tires jump extra, it doesn't snap the case. of course, i could be wrong, but when all play is removed i've found things tend to break a little quicker...

You Mean The Yoke Moves 1.5" That Seems Like Alittle Much, I'd Have Someone In A Shop Check It.

i guess i must have read that differently, do you mean the yoke moves side to side, or like a 1.5" change around the circumfrence?

Is it the transfercaes/engine tranny that stop the driveline from moving, or the rear end? Either way it sound excessive.
