I realize that this is a topic for a different forum but you guys are who I normally ask because this is by far the most knowledgeble group on all of the FTE site. Besides, I normally drive a 7.3 PSD.
Anywho....
My new delivery truck has an Idle timer that cuts off the engine after one minute of idling. This is driving me absolutely nuts as you can probably imagine. Does anyone by any slim chance know how to disable this POS? Thanks in advance
Have you tried Neutral and the parking brake on? Our fed Ex guy does this with his truck and its an econoline with a 5.4.
That was the first thing I tried. It got too frustrating so I just started cutting stuff. The good news is that I figured it out. There are different wires for the park and neutral positions on the timer. There's also a wire for when the e-brake is engaged. They thought of everything (or so they thought). Trial and error with a test light led me to the park wire so I just cut it. Now I can idle all day long as long as it's in park.
