302 changes
I have read that the F150s and Broncos from 1987-1996 came with 185 horsepower but then later changed to 210. Some people that I have talked to mentioned that when the 302s changed to Mass Air Flow in 1994 thats when they were changed to 210. I have used the online library of ALLDATA and they have the 1994-1995 302s with 185. But for 1996 they have the horsepower rated at 210. Is there a difference in the 1996 302 engine compared to the previous fuel injected ones? Or are they just rating it at a different rpm? I am just curious and would really like to solve this mystery.

The 210 hp 5.0 is the GT40 headed Explorer/Mountaineer engine. The 94-95 F & E series would be about 20-25 hp less, as they had E7TE heads but the same F4TE high torque roller cam. The books are misleading, they also rate all the 86-97 351's at 210 hp, even though they got a roller cam in 95-97 ( same one as the 5.0's).

Are there any books or anything out there that I can read up on this kind of stuff? I have seen a Ford fuel injection book until 1993 but not 1994 and up. I would really like to learn about the differences and no one besides the one reply seems to know out there.

Ford put out a book called "The Official Ford 5.0 Mustang technical and reference manual" Sold thru Ford Racing. Summit Racing stocks it. Great tech stuff on the 5.0's from 79 thru 93, with more also on the later pickup, and Explorer 5.0's too.
