2001 Explorer door oddities
Hello again.
2001 Explorer Sport (2-door power locks). I'm having another little problem in my driver's side door. The power lock/unlock button works to lock the passenger door and rear hatch, but doesn't unlock the driver's door. The interior lights dont come on when I open the door either. Oddly though, the power window controls on the door still work for both driver and passenger side. Is there a wire I should look for that was perhaps disconnected when the dealer serviced the door for a sticky lock?

My girlfriend has an 01 2 door sport and is having the same problem but as far as I know the door panel has never been apart.The drivers door lock will not work whether you try the key pod or the button on the inside it won't unlock with the key in the lock either.It just started doing this recently and at first it would unlock sometimes but now it won't work at all.It's kinda of ironic I was just getting on here to to post a thread about this to get some ideas about what it could be and you just did it for me.

I had the same problem with mine when my girlfreind got mad at me then she slam the driver door real hard. Then I couldn't lock it with my remote, key, the pad and the lock & unlock button had to do it manually. Took it to the dealer they had to install a new door lock actuator. It's been working fine now for a year.
