E40D Transmission problem please help

I have a 1994 f-250 When I come to a stop in drive or second gear the truck lurches as if trying to move forward then dies if I am in first gear no problem.I think the tourqe converter is not unlocking but I do not know if it because of tranny solenoid??throttle position sensor??manual lever switch???nuetral switch???act of god??? please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yah it sounds like it is the torque converter is staying locked when you stop. It might be a solenoid. I would get to a trans shop ASAP. I just had my E4OD rebuilt to the cost of $1800. Not a fun time.

how many miles on truck?

give a little more info or it is hard to help you.

i would change fluid, including draining torgue convertor, new filter and a bottle of lucas trans treatment.
