4.10's installed

i got it done finally. it is a '93 150 4x4 I6 5 speed 4" lift and 33x12.5 pro comp mud tires, and now 4.10's with limited slip front and rear.

i have to say its like driving a different truck. going from 3.08s to 4.10 is an extreme change. with stock gears starting off in 1st gear i would bog down then accelerate, now its almost a granny first and i can start in 2nd gear no problem. stock i could not drive in 5th/OD unless going about 80 mph to keep my rpms high, now i can accelerate no problem in OD and go up hills and dont need to down shift. at 65mph in OD im turning about 2500 rpms, it is a little bit high but, i am not at the speed very much so it dont bother me. i havent been able to go offroad yet with it but i think this thing will really crawl in 4lo.

this week and next i will test my mpg and see if it has improved, before i got a 10mpg and am hoping for 15... i will post again when i figure that out.

very happy with it so far, can really feal the torque and lack of HP

those pro comp mud terrains do suprisingly well in hte mud on lighter vehicles like yours... My friend's Bko does really well with those... yet to get stuck actually, even in 2wd, although he hasnt done much of anything that would qualify as hardcore.

Gear changes are quasi-miracles. Speaking of which, I need to order mine.

Heck yeah I went from 3.08s to 4.10s with 33s in my 84 I6 4spd with a locker in the rear and limited slip up front. It's better at everything but gas mileage and top end, I am getting around 8-10 ugh, what a pig! Oh well the ol 300 is much happier with "Real Truck Gears".

Yeah, with a 5 spd, 4.10s and 33s would be nice. With a 4 spd, I need 35s or 36s because it really sucks to drive it fast for more than a block. Sure is nice offroad, isn't it

Ditto on the gear change. I went from 3.55 to 4.56 and love it. Way better then stock. I even gained 0.5 mpg with the bigger tires and change. Gotta love it when it works out all around.

I still have mine. I would love to sell them, but when I look on EBAY, they are worth more to me on the shelf than on EBAY. If you ever wanted to change back to stock for some reason, then you would have them.

Only off a couple at low speeds can be off a lot at higher speeds.
