Gear Pattern
I am swapping gears in my 78 f250 4x4 and had a question. I installed the gears in the front axle and it went smooth, the tooth pattern is dead on and backlash is within specs, but the rear axle is a diff story. Is it possible to never get the correct tooth pattern. I have been messing with the rear gears for 3 days now 6-8 hrs a day and I cant get the tooth pattern like it should be. My back lash is within specs and the pattern is very close to being what it should be but im not happy with it. If I cant get it any better would it be ok to just leave it.
