Poundage, I call it my winter coat that doesn't go away in the spring.
You got 2 years on me, only one scooter crash ( solo with mountain, mountain won) back in 81. This was a mechanical failure and the back injury went away after 6 years. Between the later back injury at work in 87 and the wife with bad knees were going to be a pair of drug addicted baby boomers. Golden years my a$$ i'll be the one in a rest home mumbling incoherently while drooling on my depends now that's what lifes all about.

Knee replacement recovery
The wife is getting better over the knee replacement, this makes week 5 on the recovery. She can walk but still can't straighten the leg fully as its been that way for 18 years. She can't drive as the Rover has a stick and the replacement was the left knee.
Get this, her sister who is 11 years younger at 42 has bone on bone and a total replacement is needed also. Seems to run in the family as their dad has bad knees.
We hope our kids don't inherit these problems.

I am converting my 78 to an automatic because the left knee locks up and hurts. Is the PT working on extending range of motion? It takes a long time to lengthen ligaments and tendons... Bad joints can run in families. I get it from both sides.

Eric, today was a PT day we go twice a week, where there's no pain no gain, when she came home it was ice and a vicodin time. This is the 11th surgery on knees so she knows the drill for recovery.
I bet those people who play hard in sports, motocross, mountain bike and football must have alot of pain when they get older.
I hurt without the help of crazy stunts people do just a job injury, I should of been a banker.

Update:
Well,Got the results back from the MRI on Aug 21st.
The news isn't good.
Severe osteoarthritis in all areas of the joint.
The ACL is almost completely torn as well (hanging by a thread).
So thats why my knees/legs don't have any strength for walking or bending.
1) So that makes both Knees with a torn ACL (one completely)
2) Severe arthritis in both.
3) Torn Psoas Muscle left leg
4) Sciatica (both sides)
5) Fibromyalgia & Arthritis throughout the whole body
The doc is making me an appointment with a Knee & Hip guy so I guess I can expect to hear from him saying: "I'd like to help but, sorry, no new knees for you until you lose 120 lbs"
This sucks

Mil1on; I see cement work in your past, man that will wear down any person over the years no matter how big you are.
Months ago the wife had here knee replacement at 54 years of age she feels great but the other knee is completely ground up and givers her pain 24/7. Some time in the future that other knee will need to be replaced.
With me it's a bad back, knees, A.D.D (selective) and a bad attitude due to my body aches, tolerance to stupid drivers and mean people is getting thinner over the years. And I didn't want to be like my dad but realize over the years i've become him.

9 years of running up and down 8 flights stairs of 30 steps each every work day,Hockey, Football, Sliding into Home Plate, 3 Motorcycle injuries, 9 Back injuries, 6 work related injuries , 3 concussions....and Laurie Partridge in a Pear tree.
Did I tell you I have a Disability Parking Placard but hardly ever use it cause I need the exercise ?
