Is it possible to convert the modern Dodge cartrige bearing / central axle disconnect system to a hubs with lockouts sustem? Does anyone make conversions or would you have to swap out the entire axle?

Yes, it costs a bundle too. You are better off swapping in a Ford Dana 60.
Yeah... but the 3rd gen Dodge front axle has multiple attachment points that are not the same of Fords. Meanwhile, a new Dana 60 - modified to fit, would no doubt cost more that the $1700 Danatrac kit.

Any expirience with the kit?
Thanks
Mike
I did not know you were referring to a 3rd gen. I have no experience with the dynatrac kit on a 3rd or 2nd gen for that matter.
In a 2nd gen, its cheaper to swap in the 60, as it is $4500+ for the dynatrac kit.

Good point- I forgot to mention that we are talking about a newer gen truck and American Axles. The price I see quoted on the Dynatrac site is $1700. Plus another $500 if you want more upgrades.
Cost aside, it seems like a good improvement for that truck.
