Ranger 4.0 "stumble"
The offense:
There I am, sitting at the stoplight, brake depressed and in drive. When I release the brake (even before getting to touch the gas), the engine takes a wicked dip in rpm, to the point it feels like it's going to stall (but never does). When I get onto the gas, it picks right up and takes off just fine. I take it that this is not a normal behavior (my old 02 3.0 never did this), any suggestions? TIA!
Vern
The jury: Service tech
The verdict: TBD based on the techs diagnostics.
*You might consider asking the service writer (court clerk) to go with you on a short test drive in order to demonstrate to him the problem. You are right, there should not be a wild drop in engine speed under the condition you describe. Let us know how you come out on this one.
