Getting the superchip tuner

Tomorrow im getting a superchips micro tuner for my 2004 King Ranch Crew Cab 6.0
Its is totally stock except for the muffler delete pipe.

What should I expect from my truck after I reprogram it with the superchips? Should I be concerned with excessive EGT's?

Will it blow black smoke?(I like that!)

Will the exhaust be louder?

Will I be able to lay rubber without power braking?

Im so excited

I've got an 05 w/ superchips and in hi-performance setting the highest the egt's got pre-turbo was 1200-1300 max and that was pushing it hard. The transmission shifts are great. In hi-performance my fuel milage went up almost 1 mpg. It does blow a little black smoke but not what you see on the hooped up cummins. My truck will scratch the tires all the way into third gear.(torqshift) The exhaust doesn't seem any louder inside or outside and the enigine is just about as loud. Hope this helps.

Each truck responds differently. I'm at 7000 feet above sea level, and I have seen my EGTs spike past 1500 preturbo in a mater of about 12 seconds, empty- scared the crap out of me. But I have also seen my truck hit 1325 with the stock tune installed going over the Rockies with a 2500 lb trailer (so basically empty). I would not recommend spiking it above 1400, or keeping it above 1300 for any amount of time. Don’t put in the HP tune unless you have the gauges to watch it.
Just my 2cents

What should I expect from my truck after I reprogram it with the superchips? alot of power and alot more personal pressure to play around with it.....

Should I be concerned with excessive EGT's? as long as you arent ******* it daily I would think you would be fine - however i am in no means a expert.

Will it blow black smoke?(I like that!) YES in alabama it will......when you program it mash the pedal you could be compared to the chattanooga choo-choo

Will the exhaust be louder? I havent noticed it to be louder just more **** build up on the exhaust pipes

Will I be able to lay rubber without power braking? yes you will - it still has the hesitation all diesels do once you hit the higher RPM's it will ebgin to spin and spin hard........dead stops no

Im so excited
you should be!

Well, I got it and it rocks! programed the Hp tune, took it for a few 0-60 blasts, and I couldnt believe the power. I smoked the rear tires thru first and second. Switched to 4x4, and it pulled real hard. Money well spent, now I need a EGT gauge!!
