ect fails wiggle test.......?

ect fails wiggle test.......?
hello, my ect failed a wiggle test......seemed to be at the conn.........
i thought i had one but the napa guy sold me a sending unit.......o well.
my question is there electrical grease in this conn............ if you had this prob.
what steps would u take.......i know how to test the sensor when warm, i might try, but i think i'm just gonna replace it tommorrow.
whats my chances the conn is bad............ if i disconnect it would my issues clear up if this is the cause.............
any ect info would be nice. i have checked out ford fuel injection . com to get the basics. but my haynes is all about more about carbed engines it seems.
