i am having a big blow by problem, its so bad it looks like my bronco is on fire LOL i have done some work to the engine, 1404 edlebrock offy intake and EFI manifolds. i cant get this thing tuned right and cant figure out how to at least slow down the blow by.
PCV is my best bet, it should attach from the valve cover to the middle port on the front of the carb. You can clean the old one with carb cleaner, or buy a new one for about 3 bux. They should rattle freely when you shake it. Keep us updated...
the PCV is connected to the center port on the carb, and it dose rattle when i shake it. I was planning on going and getting another one just cuz it cant hurt and only cost 3 bucks. It didnt start doing this till yesterday, and it is getting in to the cab
I know the only way to "fix it" is to rebuild the engine, was just hoping to reduce it so that it wont flow into the cab.
Sure it's not an oil leak onto the exhaust manifold, causing smoke? i had that problem on my old Bronco unitl I repaired a leaky valve cover gasket. It would stink up the cab.
First off Mark, let's go back in history before we call this "blow by."
Did the truck smoke before the carb was installed?
Had the truck sat a while between firings? How long?
Give us a color on the smoke... white vs. blue vs. black...
This way we can quit poking around in the dark.

yes it did smoke before, juts not this bad till yesterday
no it was not sitting long, just over night
and the smoke it white, and coming from the oil breather cap.
I know that the only way to fix the the problem is to do a rebuild and was just hopong to reduce it a bit. i went and got a new breather cap that has a filter on it and that helped a HUGE amount. Now its not coming into the cab any more. Part of the problem was that there was so much blow by that it was getting oil on the under side of the hood and then dripping on the rest of the engine and smoking a bit.
i did do a comp. check at kevins and its getting 18-19 psi solid, not bouncing at all. I think i have dome all i can till i build a motor for it. Cant think of any thing else to do to reduce the blow-by, just have to wait till i have the money to get an engine and start building
