Superchip Tuner Question - Vic?

I am looking for anyone that has info or can get it on the status of the Superchips Flashpaq tune for the new emissions recall. If you saw my initial thread about 3 weeks ago I was looking for some help on an error code.

After some discussion on here and multiple calls to Superchips I was informed that SCMT was working on the tune and I would receive in an e-mail when the new tune was available. On the website it advised this can take up to 2 weeks but when I called SCMT assured me a couple or three days at most.

Now 3 weeks later I still have no tune and am still getting the same statement from SCMT. I am a patient man but this is getting a little ridiculous, especially on a new product.

Anyway, on to the question does anyone (Vic, Mark, Tim) have any contacts at Superchips that could find out something more than we are working on it line?

Or is anyone out there actually running the tuner after the emissions recall?

What year is your vehicle? I have an '06 and don't know if this recall came out after my purchase(Dec05). Like I've stated before I would return the product if it can't be used no matter what the problem. From what I see you have been about as patient as can be asked. I still am running the FlashPaq1805 without any issues. The only other company to go with is SCT in my opinion.

I have an 05 Excursion. You may be right, if I don't find anything out in the next couple of days it will more than likely be returned.

I sold my SCMT because of their no customer service. Vic was going to look into for me but that never happen. Vic worked for SuperChips Micro Tuner thats the only reason he was on this site. Havn't seen him lately have you. . Hes on to bigger things now . I would get rid of the SCMT and get one that has customer service and helps their customers. SCT is just like the Micro tunner but has custom files you can load into it.

SCT is a seperate company with seperate products. I wouldn't classify SCT in the same class as SCMT.

I wouldn't put them in the same class of tunner but what I ment was they are used just like the SCMT in the OBD port.

Matt - I am not sure why you seem to slam VIC and Superchips in every thread. I am assuming you have your reasons but turning this thread into a rant was not what I am looking for.

Has anyone actually used either of the Superchips tuners with the new flash.

The only thing I have aginst SCMT is they are very helpfull if your buying a new SCMT but when you have problems its like pulling teeth to get anything done. I paid good money for their tuner but when I had problems I couldn't get a return call or even an e-mail back. Vic was allways around trying to sell the SCMT but when its time to get help he was gone . I chose SCMT because of what I read here and people should know that their customer suport is bad. Vic told me he would look into why I never could get a response from them but quess what. Nothing happen. I've heard good things about SCT and would have bought that one but If someone posted that they had problem with customer service at SCMT I would have never bought their tuner. I quess the biggest part of that was all I wanted was a question answered about a tune. It wasn't like I was asking for a new tuner .Just a simple question answered but no. Hey if you like the customer service more power to ya but if someone asks about SCMT I will give my opinion. Thats what makes these sites valuable.

I understand your frustration completely but my question had nothing to do with the customer service or lack of from SCMT.

I think your opinion on this would hold more water if you would reserve for posts that asked what people thought about the tuner or the company instead of on postes where there are specific questions about use of the tuner.

In Vic's defense...he no longer works for SCMT and is on with a new company and new project that are keeping him pinned down. He was a regular poster and since moving on to the new company he seems to be just too swamped.

Have you ordered a new tuner yet?

Vic was here on this forum on his own time, not as a paid representative of Superchips.

He offered a lot of insight into tuning in general and how the SCMT, and other tuners for that matter, work. Vic was on the engineering / product development side and not part of the customer service network and while he could offer suggestions regarding some problems, mostly he could only refer people to SC customer service.

Vic has helped out a lot on this board and we've never seen anyone from Diablo or any of the other tuner manufacturers here. I don't understand why anyone would bash someone for spending their valuable unpaid time away from work here helping out, and then again because they aren't here and are off enjoying life.
