Apologies in advance, as it seems SO stinking basic. Front and rear brakes are aces - no problems there, but it seems as tho it is dragging somewhat, and I smell something around the rear driver-side tire - I have a strange suspicion that the emergency brake is sticking a bit. Easy to find? Easy to disengage? Personally I never use, because they have a history of sticking, but I had the truck transported from FL to PA, and they had to use the brake when it was on the trailer.
Now, the smell may be the brakes - it is right after I drive and end my trip. They are warm, and I have to tuck my head in the wheel-well and sniff. Also, while I waited for my baby to arrive from the Sunshine State, I was driving my wife's 2004 Toyota. Obviously there will be distinct driving and handling differences between the two.
Anyway, figured I would check the brake, just to be sure. I love this board, and any insight would be greatly appreciated, as I am still learning the ropes.
Thanks to this site, I learned how to change my starter, tune up, change the idle pulley, hoses, belts, etc. A great forum.

ya the emer brakes need to be used occasionally. I went years with out using mine and i did one day. That day was the last time my truck had e-brakes. those things froze up as soon as i locked them in. i could not get them to disengage. i ended up taking some bolt cutters and cutting the cable just so i could drive home. I should fix those some day.
the rear drum brakes can over-adjust over time and become to tight in a released state, causing a slight drag. (the drum brakes have this auto-adjusting mechanism)
this happened to me, i just simply needed to back the adjustment wheel off, and let it automatically re-adjust to a normal setting. still using the same brake shoes today
When I pull the brake up, and then release it, it POPS - but maybe it is not disengaging completely... I will crawl under it and take a peek. It is driving me nuts. But again, it could be nuttin.
