My ABS light comes on occasionally, sometimes when going over a "washboard" road and sometimes after making a tight turn. Took it to Autozone; they hooked a code reader up to it and said there were no codes. They said it might be a lose connection; I've checked all the connectors and they seem tight; all they hoses are in the frame connectors, too. Sometimes it will go for days before coming on and it never comes on immediatley after restarting. Any advice and/or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
When I purchased my truck 2 weeks ago, mine was always on. If your fluid is OK, try changing the rear speed sensor. It is about $20 from your local dealer and takes about 5 minutes to install on the top of the rear differential. I did mine this weekend and it solved the problem.
When I asked for a rear speed sensor at my dealer for my truck, the parts person didn't even ask me the year or make of my truck, turned around and walked about 5 feet and grabbed one out of a huge box. It must be a common problem!
