Gas Level Sending Unit

Hi All,
I just got a brand new gas tank for my '78 F100 and I would like to get a new sending unit/pickup tube assembly. Other than going to a Ford dealer are there any alternate sources for these units? None of the AutoZone/O'Reilly type places have them here in Eastern Oklahoma. I'm afraid to call the Ford dealer, I'll bet they get an arm and a leg for something like this.

The only other place I've seen them is Autokrafters. And, yes, they are expensive. Try to use your old one if the budget doesn't allow for a new part.

I could probably use the old one, but the float is cracked and I would have to solder it, and the filter on the pickup tube is toast, and I'm not sure I could make a new one out of window screen that would be as good. Thanks, Robie
