4 barrel on 239

Hey, fella's when I bought my 54' I also, got a 4V manifold along with the truck. Question is do any of you guys have a 4v card running on your 239. I got a price from Napa, 249.99 for a 650 edelbrock.

Several of the guys around here (Central NM, elevation 5200 feet) run the 390 cfm Holley and haven't found it to be overcarbed. 650 cfm seems a lot for that displacement.

I think that 650cfm is going to be way too much for that little engine. Here is an interesting chart;

If you want to go with a 4 barrel carb I would doo like dffay suggested adn find the smallest one out there

You're getting sage advice. That 390 cfm will work well for you. The 650 cfm will not. You will get bad mileage and poor performance.

YEah, I went online and found a holly 390 CFM street carb, Say While we're talkin, Do I still need to go with a manuel choke? this one I checked out is electric.
