Steering Box Problem
I am replacing the power steering box on my 81 F250 4x4 with a reman box. When I center the new box (2 turns form stop) the pitman arm position is turned slightly more toward the driver side than the stock box was at its centered point. In other words I have to turn the steering shaft about a half of a turn away from center to match the pitman arm position of the centered stock box. This in turn causes me to make an extreem amount of adjustment on the passenger side tie rod adjuster.
Has anytone ever seen this? Do you think this is just a fluke or is it inherient of reman boxes? Are the stops in the box adjustable?
