Exclamation Poor 56.. Open with CAUTION

Found this while searching a salvage auction website. This one will be auctioned off (not to the public) on March 8 in Sacramento, CA.

(Was) a nice looking truck. Probably was out for a Sunday cruise when he was slammed by a red light runner. I would have tried to keep the salvage.

https://www.iaai-bid.com/vehicledetails.aspx?auctionid=3909182&itemid=42333 95

At least it's not a '51/'52.

Ilya

Oh man! Thats looks like one that was for sale last year (saw it online-was in CA). It was sharp if its the same one.

Frame, front cap, door....probable engine/trans damage. Would still be worth it for parts.

I can't begin to feel for the owner. I'm not sure if the frame was bent, but by the pictures, the damage isn't really to bad. Definitely needs sheetmetal, doors. Looks like the owner has a nice engine that came through the hood also. The interior is clean too.

I am in tears.

I had someone ram into me in my 56' and it was totalled, nothing makes you want to cry more than seeing all your hard work go down the tubes.

Parts def look salvageable, I would love to see whts under that hood-

What a shame when someone's time and money go away like this. I actually heard it said once that ''It's a good thing that wasn't a new truck'' That kind of crap scares me to death but it makes me a lot more aware, especially when I drive my hot rod(s)

That does suck, and I'll be that poor guy had a fight with the insurance company on the real value of the truck. Just a heads up, you guys might want to have a little chat with your insurance agent about this issue. I did, and we came to a good agreement on what they would pay me if the truck was stolen, burned up, wrecked, etc.

My seatbelts were finished yesterday morning....my first test drive into town was yesterday afternoon. Wouldn't leave the neighborhood without them.

And may the poor '56 rest in peace.

Why isn't it for private partys to bid on? Is it only for dealers? I'm here in Sac and would love to rebuild that baby! On the matter of insurance, that's why I have Grundy. Predetermined replacement value. No haggling or arguments. Let me know where it's at. Maybe I can find a dealer to bid on it for me. Thanks, Jag

It would take some work, but the Olde Girl could be saved.
If someone did that to my "Wee Beastie" the Coroner would be hauling them off.
