f5 f1 cabs same?

f5 f1 cabs same?
there is a f5 for sale, was looking at it for a parts truck for my 51.
the cab seems to have a bigger back window then mine is this right? are the same cabs with different size glass or are they the samr size?

The cabs should be the same - only the front fenders openings would be different. If the windows are different we'd be interested in knowing the vin numbers on the two cabs. If you check out the above 'sticky' on vins you'll see we've been trying to determine just when Ford changed the window size.

The larger rear windows began in 1951 but there is an old rumor that some of the late 1950 trucks came with the larger rear windows. Thus far, we have not been able to locate even one 1950 with the larger rear window so if they exist, I would say they are really rare and we would love to know more about one if you find one.
If you have two 1951 trucks with different sized rear widnows, you have something else altogether. Can you get some pictures and post them?
Rear windows in the 1951 cabs should be the same unless one has been chopped or one is a 1950 and the other is a 1951. Note that 1951/52 front clips can and have been bolted to 1948-50 trucks in the past. In these instances, the VIN # and the instrument clsuter can be used to distinquish them.

Would be great mif you could get picutres, inside and out so that we could see the dash and the grill. Getting a VIN # would be great also. I agree it would be a rare find.
