today when i was pulling people out of the ditch because of the snow we got i went into 4wd and it worked fine i was stopped so i switched it into 4 low and nothing. light did not come on in dash and it wasnt engaged. does anyone know why 4 high will work and not 4 low. i have esof

 

Did you have it in neutral with your foot on the brakes when you shifted it to 4wd low? These two things must be done to shift into or out of 4wd low.

thanks joe. i diddnt know it had to be in neutral i tried everything except that. park, rolling about 2 mph, stopped in drive, and nothing. so it wont work in park and has to be in neutral?

 

Yes, it has to be in drive or reverse for 4wd high and neutral with your foot on the brakes for 4wd low. Don't forget you have to do the same thing to get it out of 4wd low.
