Rear Brakes

Can anyone in this board tell me if the 67-79's had self adjusting rear brakes and whether the backing plate, etc will mount on a 60 rear.

Yes my 76 and 79 both have self adjusting rear drum brakes.... they have 9 inch axle though so I can't say about the Dana.

My 60 has a Ford Rearend. I think the Dana is different. It is also a 9" stock rear. Maybe it will fit. Can you tell me if it has a 5 bolt pattern and flat on the bottom side.

The Dana's had self adjusters also. but like all self adjusters, they usualy dont! you can adjust them with a screwdriver through the back of the backing plate (near the bottom). There is a rubber plug. Pop it out, and turn the adjusters by pushing the screwdriver handle UP. Make sure you have the tire off the ground so that you can spin it to tell when the brakes are getting tighter. If it's been a long time since the drums have been off, you may need to turn the adjust quite a bit.
