kickdown linkage

72 f100 was a 3speed manual now a C4 tranny, how do i hook up the kick down rod and can i convert to cable

The stock 2 barrel carb that come on the C4 equiped truck has some additional linkage for the kickdown. If your truck came with a standard tranny the carb doesn't have this.

it is a two barrel but it looks to have been replaced to accomodate, is there a way to tell

The kickdown link is an extra little lever on the throttle shaft on the inside of the throttle lever. There is a tab on the throttle lever that engages the kickdown lever when the throttle is opened a certain amount. The kickdown lever has an adjusting screw.
