L&L conversion question

L&L conversion question

I am currently installing a 460 into a 79 crewcab 4wd. I purchased the L&L motor mounts, 7 qt oil pan kit, and the inside the frame headers. So far everything is going well except for the dipstick tube. It didn't fit with the headers. I contacted L&L and they said I needed to bend it to fit, But I can't seem to conform it so the bolt down tab will reach a bolt. I also noticed on the oil pan where the dipstick goes in there seems to be a slot for what looks like a retaining clip, but I didn't get one in the kit. If any of you have completed this conversion I would appreciate some pointers on this.

L&L conversion question

Bushman , I wish you would have posted before you bought parts Iwas goig through the same thing then I bought a van center sump pan pump and dipstick tube all brand new and under 100 bucks fits perfectly so anybody else at this point consider these options good luck

L&L conversion question

Well I finally got the answer from L&L. They gave me some wrong info and are now sending me another dipstick tube. As far as the pan goes, The last time I did this conversion I didn't use any L&L stuff and basically used the same oil pan you did. I decided to try the L&L one this time since I wanted the headers and the mtr mnts anyway. When It arrived I noticed that it is directly from ford and then they just add a baffle inside of it. Oh well live and learn. I will say one thing though, The company is very good with there customer relations.
