Shift points, gear swap??

I know a guy at work who is putting 4.10's (from 3.42) in a Tahoe. He got a quote from a shop of around $500 to reprogram his computer (speedo and shift points). He opted to purchase a Hypertech programmer on Ebay for around $285, should accomplish same thing, and then you can go back to stock settings for dealer service. Heard they're real easy to use.

Agreed...spend the money on a programmer if your wanting to accomplish switching your shift points! That way its not permanent and you can change speedo, shift points, etc etc...dont pay someone to do it! I have a Superchips for the same reason and to compensate my speedo for bigger tires!
