Hi
I have a 94 F250 460. I put new plugs in it last year and I was pulling plugs yesterday to check if I had a internal coolant leak. Well I went to pull number
6 backed it out 1/4 of the way and it got really hard so I tried it a couple times.
Can I back it out and shoot some WD on the plug?
Thanks

First thread it back in then out again. If it hangs up again, you have no choice, it has to come out. WD won't hurt anything, but there mayby a burr on a threads that could drop into the cylinder, but again the plug has to come out. Then go to the parts store and get a spark plug thread chasing tool and clean out those threads in the head (I like to put grease on the chaser threads so less crap falls into the the cylinder). Also make sure the plug's threads aren't tore up. If they are, just replace it.
I think it is posiable you have a bild up of carbon on the threads. You don't realey have much choice you have to take it out. After you get it out look at the plug threads and see how they look, if they don't look to bad just run a tap or thread chasedr in to clean out aney carbon or caroshion. I alwas use a antisease grease on plugs. I got started right after I striped out my first plug in a alumanium head.
The oxygenated fuels that are in use now make 5 times as much soot and carbon as the old fuels and this has become a common problem with plugs. If you use a spray i would use a little shot of carb cleaner-might disolve the deposits better. If you end up striping the hole check out www.timesert.com The suggestion to chase the threads is a very good idea.
